A original fluid flash hack 'n slash
The first positive point that I saw was the game mechanic. The gameplay was perfect for what looks to be the purpose of the game.
Yes, they achieved a nice fluid hack 'n slash, and yes, was original.
"But hack 'n slash flash games are the less original games that can be made (aside from tetris-like-porn)!"
Yes, but these guys here put up a new and great style. You my find strange to use only the mouse even to jump. And to use the mouse to jump while use it too for attack and movement, but it works. And works well.
Fast paced, fun, quick. Looks like these guys achieved what they wanted.
About the graphics, I find this almost perfect. The characters are well placed in the feeling of the game. and made it look TLotRian.
"I'm fighting the tolkian-in-movie-orc!"
Yeah, almost that!
The problem was that mages. They don't fit. They scream was beautiful, and I loved it, but they design was weak. Yes, I know that they are the weakest mage creatures, but that don't help. They needed to be darker. They scream (literally) for it. I saw a Diablo feeling in them, and that is good, but don't make it any better.
Them, was thinking about it and slashing my enemies, I meet the cultist, and "YEAH, THAT'S WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT". Imagine a cultist with a mage scream. Great, huh?
Or the mages being a slimmer version of cultists, without that blade, really thin bodies. Or at least with they red clothes darker, and with the face covered.
Another great thing was the battle styles, simple and intuitive.
Yeah, you can't go to deep in strategy in a hack 'n slash, but this game isn't 100% click and kill. 90%, maybe.
I hope for more like this, but more grim & dark. Yeah, put us on hell already, with the screen full of beautiful monster and hight pitch screams.
No secret formula (but with a original gameplay), just well done work, and nobody wants nothing more for a quick fun time. Am I wrong?
Almost
Like people have said, "pixel world, pixel blood".
Also, it's too slow. This kind of game is a lot better when fast paced. You should let us choose between this and a faster version.
Keep goin'

Be in peace.
Great and Hard
Well executed concept. But a little too hard.
And I'm not talking about the low life, that was great. I'm talking about the game in general, and you don't need to change it. Instead, you could put an easy option, with a bigger life bar, less enemies in screen or something for the cry babies.
And a DAMN PROBLEM was that weapon change thing. I mean, this wasn't intuitive. I tried to click in the other gun, tried to use the common "weapon change keys"(like the the number keys, Q, E, etc), searched in the menu about it, then in author comments out of game and when I was almost giving up, I just decided tp type randomly until find it.
And for you that are reading this review, the weapon change key is: SPACEBAR.
Now send me cash.
Yeah i guess we could have made that more obvious... if you send me your paypal address ill send you $6,000,000 ok?
Nice visual, but...
The lack of the strategy element is strong in this game.
NO FUN
It isn't just the difficulty. It lack in challenging.
Difficulty without challenging = NO FUN.
Learn to balance.
Feels like a brick toy
Cool idea and presentation, but it's also slow, laggy and have bad controls.
Can't play for more than few minutes.
Good
But lack a skip scene option, mute music button and fix this plot hole when we kill the housekeeper.
Not a plot hole.
Some things are left for you to deduce.
Maybe he wasn't really dead?
Or maybe he was a figment as well.
Mute/skip will be added to subsequent games.
